Continue building your skill set, using the 4” Multi-Tool ruler. Finish this block as a table topper or pillow, or take all the classes and combine all projects into a larger "quilt as you go" project.

Supplies:

• Sewing machine* in good working order (freshly cleaned/oiled with a new needle) with Sew Steady table or slide on tray to support project;*

• Ruler foot* and straight stitch foot* (#1/1C/1D) for your sewing machine;^

• Pattern: Wholecloth Quilting Ideas Block 5 by Amanda Murphy;*

• 4” Multi-Tool ruler: Good Mearsure by Amanda Murphy. It must be 1/4" thick to use with the Bernina #72/72S ruler foot;*

• Fabric:
  --Two pieces of good quality fabric, (ironed) measuring 22' x 22'. Fabric does not have to be solid white fabric, but it does need to be fabric you can easily mark and easily see those markings;
  --1/4 yard binding fabric if making a single table topper (optional);
  --Batting: one piece of batting measuring 22" x 22";

• Sewing supplies, including:

--24" ruler for marking*;

--Marking tool: pen or pencil*;

--Spray adhesive for basting*;

--12” 8ths Graph Beveled Ruler*;

--Contrasting Thread which can be seen easily as opposed to matching thread

--Quilting gloves (Recommended)*

BEFORE CLASS: PRE-Mark your quilt top with one horizontal, one vertical and two diagonal lines through the Center Point, forming a + and an X, using your marking tool. Then, mark an 18” square centered over your lines. If you do not have a large enough ruler, that step can be done in class. Be Precise -- the greater your accuracy in drawing the lines through the center point, the more balanced your project will look.

Layer and baste your quilt so we are ready to go first thing. Do not use pins to baste your quilt. We do have a “spray box” at the store if you wish to spray baste before class begins.
