Software Club for 2025

Join Bernina of Omaha in the Building Blocks of Software 9 Club. 

The Software Club 2025 year will be offering two different options this year:  
With Skill Hub Access or no Skill Hub Access.  Both options come with handouts, copies of the power point and any extra files needed for that month’s lessons. Both options also include access to join Jamie one Saturday or one evening every other month for more tips and help walking through the lesson.

What is the difference between the two Club options?  If you want access to rewatch the videos that are played during Software Club lessons, then you will need to purchase the Building Blocks Software Code for Skill Hub access. Otherwise, you will only be able to watch the video once during the Software Club lesson. In other words, there will not be access to the video afterwards if you choose not to purchase the Building Blocks Software Code.

If you want access to the Skill Hub aka access to the videos, then you must purchase the Building Blocks Software Code from the store.     A discount code will be given to you to allow you to add yourself to the class roster if you wish to attend the lesson with Jamie.  

If you do not want to have access to the Skill Hub and only watch the video once during the lesson, then you are in the right spot. You will need to sign up here and pay for the each lesson you wish to attend. 

There will be six skill level lessons that includes two parts: a basics lesson for beginners and a second lesson covering more advanced topics for those with software experience.

February Lesson 1: Lettering

The 2025 session will begin with the basic building block of lettering. In Creator level, we will explore different ways to create Knock Down lettering. In DesignerPlus level, we will learn to create a personalized key fob using Artwork Canvas and explore other creative techniques with lettering.

April Lesson 2: Creative Photos

In Creator level, you will create a raw edge quilted design from a photo. In DesignerPlus, you will use the Quilter program to create a pixel quilt from a photo.

June Lesson 3:  Editing Formats

What’s all the fuss about formats? Why the format you choose makes a difference in your editing results. Note: lesson 3 will have one lesson for both skill levels as these are topics that everyone should understand.

August Lesson 4: Digitizing Edge to Edge Quilting

In Creator level, you will learn how to create an edge-to-edge quilting design using the digitizing tools. In DesignerPlus, you will use Artwork Canvas to create quilting block designs. 

October Lesson 5: Creative Tools (Needle Punch and Couching)

In Creator level, you will learn how to create designs for use with the Needle punch accessory and Couching Foot # 43. In DesignerPlus, you will create designs for these accessories to embroider. 

December Lesson 6:  Settings for Successful Embroidery

This lesson will cover the things we rarely talk about. Let’s learn about underlay, pull compensation, jump stitches, starts and stops, and settings for creating designs for different fabrics.Note: lesson 6 will have one lesson for both skill levels as these are topics that everyone should understand.

Please note the materials and meeting links will be sent to you the night before the scheduled lesson, because of this Bernina of Omaha has updated our cancellation policy for all Software and DesignWorks lessons.  If you are unable to attend and would like to request a refund, you must do so before 5pm the night before your scheduled class.
