Build your skill set, beginning with the straight edge ruler. Finish this block as a table topper or pillow, or take all the classes and combine all projects into a larger "quilt as you go" project.
Supplies:
*Sewing machine in good working order with Sew Steady table or slide on tray to support project;
*Ruler foot for your sewing machine^;
*Pattern: Wholecloth Quilting Ideas Block 1 by Amanda Murphy;
*Straight edge ruler: Every Angle Good Measures by Amanda Murphy. It must be 1/4" thick to use with the Bernina #72/72S ruler foot;
Fabric:
Two pieces of good quality fabric, (ironed) measuring 22' x 22'. Fabric does not have to be solid white fabric, but it does need to be fabric you can easily mark and easily see those markings;
1/4 yard binding fabric if making a single table topper;
Batting: one piece of batting measuring 22" x 22";
*Sewing supplies, including:
24" ruler for marking;
Marking tool (recommend Bohin chalk pencil for dark fabric and blue water soluble marker for light fabric);
Spray adhesive for basting;
Quilting Gloves if you have them.

^Ruler Foot for Bernina and Bernette sewing machines can be purchased at Bernina Sewing Center
| Requirements: | Before Class: PRE-Mark your quilt top using your marking tool by drawing an 18" square centered on your top. Add one horizontal, one vertical line, both Through The Center Point, forming a +. Finally, mark two diagonal lines, forming an X, which connect the corners. Be Precise -- the greater your accuracy in drawing the lines through the center point, the more balanced your project will look. |
