Kids Advanced Beginner Summer Sewing Camp
Session 1 – June 10, 12 & 13 2024; 9:30 - noon
Session 2 – July 15, 17 & 18 2024; 9:30 am -noon
Students need to be 10 years of age and have completed the Beginning Camp or approval of the instructor.
Supply List
*Straight pins
*Seam ripper
*Fabric scissors
*Thread to match each project fabric – please purchase @ Bernina Sewing Center since the kids will be using our machines. This is a better quality thread and will not gunk up our machines.
Day 1 – Medium Size Storage Bin
½ yard of fabric for outside of bag
½ yard of fabric for lining of bag (will be turned down, so will show on the outside)
*½ yard of heavy weight fusible interfacing (double that if your interfacing isn't 45” wide) I used Decor Bond 809, which we sell here at Bernina. I have found this to be an excellent product guaranteeing success with the project.
*Thread to match the lining fabric
Day 2 – Journal Cover
1/3 yard of two (2) different coordinating fabrics
42" of 1/2" wide ribbon or an extra 2" of one of the fabrics
Thread to match outside fabric
Day 3 - Tote Bag
1/2 yard of two different fabrics for outside and inside of bag
3/8 yard for the straps
I will provide the batting for the bag
