This is a large tote bag (has an 11.5” square bottom.) Would be great for grocery or other shopping, crafting, etc.
Supply List:
Mondo Bag pattern. It is put out by Quiltsmart and designed by Mattie Rhoades Haines. Please have Kami order the pattern for you as you will want to use the printed interfacing. You can also purchase refills for the printed interfacing if you would decide to make additional bags – I sure found it very helpful.
192 outer 2.5” squares and 4 width of fabric for handles (I used a half jelly roll – requires 12 strips for bags and 4 for the handles). Scrappy would also be good. You could also use 48 of the 5” squares but the printed interfacing that comes with the pattern is geared towards the 2.5” squares. Pre-cutting your squares would be a bonus for you.
1 ¼ yard lining fabric
1 ¼ yard fusible fleece
thread to match or contrast – there is top stitching
All of the normal sewing tools – scissors, ripper, pins, etc.
¼ presser foot
rotary cutter/mat – I would actually suggest that you have your squares cut in order to save class time
good working/cleaned & oiled machine
Helpful Tools: Applique pressing sheet & Turn-it-All for turning the handles
